There are a lot of great things in store for this year!
On the educational front, I’ve been working on Volume II of Jazz Drumset Etudes, which will be an appropriate and worthy successor to Volume I.
On the recording side of things, the home studio is rapidly evolving, but is still in beta test mode. If you have any tracks that you’d like me to play on, please feel free to hit me up on the contact page. More to come on studio developments later!
On the live gig tip, it’s always fun getting to play a variety of styles. I feel so grateful to live in a city where it’s possible to play in a swingin’ big band one night, a funky funk band the next, and maybe an all out rock concert the night after that!
Speaking of gratitude, I’d like to thank all of the wonderful companies that I get to be a part of - Gretsch drums, Zildjian cymbals, Vic Firth sticks, and Remo drumheads. Recently, I picked up a Gretsch Brooklyn Series kit and couldn’t be happier with it. It’s so wonderfully versatile and fun to play. Zildjian keeps coming out with amazing instruments, as well. I’ve been loving my 20” Kerope ride, but looking forward to trying one of the new “A’s” they just unveiled at the NAMM show.
OK - that’s all I got for now. I’m going to try very hard to do more blog posts this year.
Thanks for reading!
